| MWM INTERNATIONAL convened suppliers in a workshop on innovations in the logistics system | ||
Last March and in partnership with Cargolift – logistics operator – MWM INTERNATIONAL gathered the complete production part supplier network in Brazil in a workshop presenting the implantation of Milk Run project and pointing out the process innovations involving all 160 partners. Milk Run for 100% of the suppliers is the following step of the project initiated six months ago, and implemented at first for six different routings and 18 suppliers, where the collecting system by regions and by delivery windows was scheduled according to fix routings. At present, the system evolves to be more dynamic and accurate, with daily routing programmed through a dedicated software. The logistics operator receives delivery data via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), generates a bar code label authorizing the physical collection and MWM INTERNATIONAL monitors via web the whole routing-delivery process in real time. The Milk Run project is estimated to be completed by July this year. |

A new version of the 6.10 engine has been developed by MWM INTERNATIONAL, for applications in vessels of the fishing industry. Delivery 8.150 truck manufactured by Volkswagen leaded sales in Brazil in the light-truck sector, and achieved the second position in the commercialization ranking, when summing up all truck segments in 2008. In all, more than 16 thousand Delivery 8.150 trucks has been already produced, and every one has been powered with this engine. Taking in account only last year, 6,321 models to be used mainly in urban delivery applications were sold. On the agricultural equipment segment, the TL 75 model manufactured by New Holland and powered since 2005 with MWM INTERNATIONAL's 229 Series, four-cylinder engine, is top ranking tractor sales in Brazil. This year, total production to power TL product family shall exceeded the 20 thousand units, consolidating the market share claimed by the diesel engine manufacturer in the segment of wheeled tractors. |
||
| MWM INTERNATIONAL accounts for a growth of 27% in engine production for applications in wheeled tractors. | ||
MWM INTERNATIONAL maintains an optimal performance in the agricultural market, with 55.5% of market share as of January to March 2009, despite the plunge of 15.7% recorded in tractor production, as a consequence of export reductions. During the first quarter of 2009, the company produced more than 6,600 engines for wheeled tractor applications, which is 27% higher compared to the same period of the previous year, when the company attained 5,250 units. The company has kept operating with good results, mainly due to the increase in tractors powered with 4-cylinder engine production, driven by some Government incentive programs, such as Mais Alimentos, Pró-Trator and Trator Solidário. These programs promote small and medium developer activities and are aimed at reinforcing agricultural family businesses, improve productivity, competitiveness and farming product quality while generating business and income opportunities. |
